Home care in Siemensstadt: nursing in the Ringsiedlung and on Rohrdamm
A 1920s works housing estate, post-war rows of flats, plenty of green in between: in Siemensstadt the front doors sit close together — which is good for fixed appointment times. We are taking on new clients: 030 64828209.
Siemensstadt was built as housing for factory workers, and that still shapes the district today: the Großsiedlung Siemensstadt of the 1920s, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2008, together with the 1950s terraces on Goebelstraße and Mäckeritzstraße and the blocks of flats on Jungfernheideweg. Many people here have lived in the same flat for decades, often on the second or third floor with no lift. Because the entrances lie close together, rounds are easy to plan — fixed times are easier to keep here than in areas spread widely apart.
The provider is Sonnenstrahlen Pflege UG (haftungsbeschränkt), approved for care benefits in kind under SGB XI and for medically prescribed home nursing under § 37 SGB V. If you have statutory cover you receive no bill from us; we settle directly with the health insurer (Krankenkasse) and the long-term care insurance fund (Pflegekasse). Privately insured clients receive a statement of the visits made, for their own policy. We work in German, English and Russian. We answer enquiries the same working day.
We reach Siemensstadt along Nonnendammallee and Siemensdamm, including from the office at Theodor-Heuss-Platz 1 in Westend. Spandau, to the west of it, has a page of its own.
What we do between Rohrdamm and Jungfernheide
The morning round in an estate flat
A wash at the basin or in the shower, getting dressed, the walk from bed to armchair. The flats are compactly laid out and the bathrooms are small — at the home visit we work out with you whether a shower stool or a grab rail would make the routine safer.
Everything written on the Muster 12
Insulin to schedule, changes of dressing, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, compression stockings from class II upwards, catheters and stoma care. If the practice on Rohrdamm changes the orders, we follow the new ones from the next visit on.
Wound care at home
Ulcus cruris, pressure sores, sutures after an operation — treated at the prescribed intervals and documented by size, wound edge and exudate. There is no journey to the surgery, and the report goes back to the treating doctor.
Hours in which relatives are free
A walk through the Jungfernheide, help with the shopping on Rohrdamm, company in the afternoon. This is paid for from the relief allowance (Entlastungsbetrag) under § 45b SGB XI, which is available from care level (Pflegegrad) 1 onwards.
Two postcodes between Nonnendamm and Jungfernheide
Siemensstadt carries the postcodes 13627 and 13629. We drive to the Großsiedlung around Jungfernheideweg and Geißlerpfad, to Goebelstraße and Mäckeritzstraße, to Rohrdamm, Siemensdamm and Nonnendammallee, and to the residential streets by Wernerwerkdamm. Spandau adjoins to the west, Charlottenburg-Nord to the east — we serve Spandau as well and it has a page of its own. Whether your street lies on one of our rounds is settled in two minutes on the phone: 030 64828209.

What is covered, from when, and by whom
Prescribed nursing procedures (Behandlungspflege) are paid for by the health insurer. What counts is the day of signature at the practice: if the Muster 12 reaches the insurer within three working days of being issued, the visits made while it is being assessed are covered retrospectively from the date of issue as well (§ 6 Abs. 6 HKP-Richtlinie). Under § 61 SGB V adults pay ten per cent of the daily cost for at most 28 treatment days a year, plus ten euros per prescription (Verordnung); anyone who is exempt pays none of it.
With the long-term care insurance fund it is the care level that decides. The benefits-in-kind budget under § 36 SGB XI is available from care level 2 for personal care (Grundpflege), housekeeping and companionship; at care level 1 the relief allowance under § 45b SGB XI remains. What is left as your own contribution we tell you only after the free home visit — in writing, with the insurer's share and your own share set out separately.
From the call to the first morning visit
- You tell us what is needed: One call to 030 64828209 is enough. With the street and house number it is immediately clear whether your address in Siemensstadt lies on one of our rounds.
- A home visit, usually the same week: A qualified nurse looks at the bathroom, the stairwell and the entryphone and notes which tasks are needed at which time. The visit costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
- The Muster 12 goes off at once: We take the prescription to the health insurer within three working days, so that cover starts on the date of issue. If there is no care level yet, we file the application with the long-term care insurance fund at the same time.
- The first shift rings your bell: You are given firm appointment times and a small, settled team; your named nurse comes along on the first visit.
From the Ringsiedlung to Rohrdamm
Which addresses in Siemensstadt do you visit regularly?
13627 and 13629: the Großsiedlung around Jungfernheideweg and Geißlerpfad, Goebelstraße and Mäckeritzstraße, Rohrdamm, Siemensdamm, Nonnendammallee and the streets by Wernerwerkdamm. Spandau has a page of its own.
Do we get fixed appointment times?
Yes. Because the front doors here lie close together, times are easy to keep in Siemensstadt. After the home visit you get firm times rather than a two-hour window.
Third floor, no lift — will you still come?
Yes; in these estate buildings that is the normal case. More important than the stairs is getting into the flat: a key held by relatives, a key safe by the door, or a working entryphone.
Do we have to wait for the insurer's approval?
No. As soon as the practice has signed the Muster 12 we may start. If the form reaches the health insurer by the third working day after that, it bears the cost retrospectively from the date of issue (§ 6 Abs. 6 HKP-Richtlinie). For personal care and companionship it is the care level that decides.
Without a recognised care level — is anything possible?
Nursing procedures, yes; they depend solely on the doctor's prescription. Personal care and companionship require an assessment: benefits in kind under § 36 SGB XI from care level 2, and at care level 1 the relief allowance under § 45b SGB XI. We fill in the application together with you and tell you beforehand what the Medizinischer Dienst (medical review service) will ask about.
Where is the office, and do you work at night?
The nearest office is at Theodor-Heuss-Platz 1, 14052 Berlin-Westend — by appointment only. Further offices: Heilbronner Str. 1 in Halensee and Sickingenstr. 52 in Moabit. We do not work nights.
Short distances, times you can hold us to
